The Village of Grayslake, established in 1895, is located in central Lake County, approximately forty miles north of Chicago and fourteen miles west of Lake Michigan. Grays Lake, a 78 acre recreational lake, is located within the Village. This is one of Lake County's oldest communities and features a historic downtown area known as the Grayslake Village Center. The Village Center includes unique dining and shopping options, is home to the three-season Grayslake Farmers Market (April-December), and is the location of numerous community events taking place year round. The Grayslake Village Center also features the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum which showcases the history of the area and provides many cultural events in the community. The Village of Grayslake as a whole offers numerous family-friendly events including the annual Lake County Fair held each summer and is home to over 20 miles of paths connecting the town’s neighborhoods and various areas to the Village Center for recreational opportunities.
