Participants will travel to Starved Rock State Park for the Illinois Audubon Society’s annual Eagle Watch Weekend. The trip includes live bird shows, opportunities to observe wild eagles fishing along the river, craft activities and hands-on learning experiences. Colder temperatures often provide the best bird-viewing conditions.
Pre-registration is required, and all participants—both children and adults—must be registered. Children must be accompanied by a paid, registered adult. Participants should dress warmly and be prepared for walking, as some viewing areas require climbing stairs. Meals are not included. Transportation is provided via the Park District mini-bus. The program is open to ages 6 and up. The fee is $30 per person.
