Woofie’s of Barrington-Northwest will celebrate Valentine’s Day and its grand opening with Pooches and Smooches, a dog-friendly community event at Buffalo Creek Brewing. It will take place Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Buffalo Creek Brewing. The event will include a Valentine’s-themed photo booth, pup cups, The Farmer’s Dog sample giveaways, raffle prizes (while time and supplies last), and on-site nail trims for a fee. An adoption station hosted by Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter will be open from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Celebrating nine months of business, the locally owned pet-care franchise is emphasizing community connections, small-business partnerships, and giving back in a family- and pet-friendly setting. Woofie’s of Barrington-Northwest is owned by Lake Zurich native Karen McGovern, a local mom and pet lover with deep small-business roots in the community. She brings Woofie’s mobile pet services to the area she grew up in.

Participating organizations include Woofie’s of Barrington-Northwest, Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter, and local vendors and partners. The event is open to community members and their leashed dogs.
