Celebrate the shortest day of the year by exploring snowy trails illuminated with nature lanterns. Participants will enjoy poems and songs from diverse winter traditions around the world, and are welcome to bring and share favorites from their own family traditions. The event begins with lantern-making at Heller Nature Center, followed by a parade through the park with stops to sing, read a poem, or tell a story. After the walk, attendees will return to the Nature Center for a warming beverage.
Pre-registration is required. All participants, including children and adults, must register for the program. Children must be accompanied by a paid, registered adult. Children under 2 are free and do not need to be registered. The walk is outdoors, so participants should dress for the weather.
The event is open to all ages. Cost is $14 per participant.
