The “Of Bogs & Books” adult book discussion series will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. the second Saturday of each month this fall at Volo Bog State Natural Area. Discussions are offered both in person and via Zoom.
The autumn 2025 reading selections include:
Sept. 13: The Light Eaters: How the Unseen World of Plant Intelligence Offers a New Understanding of Life on Earth by Zoë Schlanger — A deep immersion into the drama of green life and the complexity of the wild, exploring how plants communicate, recognize kin and behave socially.
Oct. 11: Crossings: How Road Ecology is Shaping the Future of Our Planet by Ben Goldfarb — An examination of the growing science of road ecology and how human infrastructure impacts wildlife and ecosystems.
Nov. 8: The Rise of Wolf 8: Witnessing the Triumph of Yellowstone’s Underdog by Rick McIntyre — The true story of a small, unlikely wolf who overcame adversity to become a celebrated pack leader in Yellowstone National Park.
Books are primarily nonfiction and may be found at local bookstores, libraries or online.
