Stephen Ursino, a self-taught artist, will exhibit his abstract oil paintings, "BLACK, BLUE & WHITE," at the Blue Moon Art Gallery from Sept. 20 to Oct. 25, 2025. The exhibition features new works by Ursino, who uses heavily juxtaposed layers of oil to depict abstract interpretations of figures, facial nuances and energy. Ursino employs a variety of tools, including palette knives, screwdrivers and his bare hands, to create textured, almost three-dimensional paintings. An opening reception is scheduled for Sept. 20 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The gallery, located in Grayslake, Ill., will have the artwork available for purchase during the exhibition.
