This Check-in Challenge runs all of February. When craft drinkers arrive at a participating location, they check in using their mobile pass to show they're in attendance. Join the Lake County Forest Preserves District (LCFPD) Black History Month presentation: the 40th annual Profiles in Excellence program. This Greenbelt Cultural Center showcases women in sports as this year's theme. The LCFPD free admission event in North Chicago features inspiring presentations, live performances, and guest speaker China Jude, the Denver Broncos, vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

"LaDama takes on traditional genres with confidence and vigor without being constrained by their conventions. The result is a vivid montage of music of the Americas with irresistible spirit and universal appeal," said the National Public Radio (NPR) program "All Things Considered." LaDama, the female quartet, showcases their winter tour at College of Lake County's James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts. The music collective met at One Beat, a New York City-based institute for socially engaged musicians. The members come from various countries like Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, and the U.S. and play multiple genres of music like Caribbean, soul, R&B, and Pop. The group is gaining more and more buzz as they've been featured on "NPR Tiny Desk," "NOWTHIS," TED, and more.
