Hawthorn Row will transform into a winter streetscape as the annual Hot Cocoa Stroll returns. The outdoor event invites families and visitors to sip, shop and wander through a festive lineup of makers, activities and classic holiday entertainment. The celebration will feature several marquee attractions, including live reindeer and an appearance from Santa. Hot cocoa tents will dot the pedestrian-friendly corridor, offering everything from classic cocoa to creative seasonal twists. Adults can warm up with spiked cocoa or hot wine, while younger visitors can skate on the ice rink or explore the on-site tree farm. More than 35 vendors and local makers will be present. Live music will play throughout the evening, adding to the spirited atmosphere as families stroll and enjoy activities ranging from craft stations to the Vernon Hills High School Parent Group Lounge, where volunteers will offer gift wrapping. Downtown Libertyville will once again channel the warmth and wonder of a classic Christmas as Dickens of a Holiday. The annual celebration brings family traditions and a nostalgic blend of Victorian-era charm to Main Street. The day begins in Cook Park, where Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet families for photos in Santa's festive sleigh. Just steps away, the Libertyville Civic Center will host the Children’s Holiday Shoppe, a favorite that gives young shoppers ages 4 to 10 the chance to pick out up to six gifts for loved ones with help from Santa’s elves.
