Historic downtown Long Grove invites visitors to celebrate the holiday season with Vintage Holidays, a festive experience featuring quaint shops, holiday decorations, and family-friendly activities. The season kicks off Friday, Nov. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. with Light Up Long Grove, including wagon rides, late-night shopping, a bridge and tree lighting ceremony, a live dance performance, and a visit from Santa Claus.

Visitors can enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides on select weekends for $15 per seat (children under 5 ride free on an adult’s lap) and meet Santa during scheduled appearances throughout the season. Free pictures with Santa are available on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 12 to 4 p.m. at Covered Bridge Park. Holiday carolers will perform on select days, enhancing the festive atmosphere.

Merchants in the historic downtown will feature special holiday merchandise, food, and drink, and shoppers can participate in the Sip, Shop and Dine Gift Promotion by collecting receipts totaling $150 from local shops and restaurants between Nov. 21 and Dec. 24 to redeem a free holiday gift at the Visitors’ Center.
