Through the Eyes of the Piping Plovers: The Flora, Fauna and Communities of the Lake Plain

The Lake County Audubon Society and the College of Lake County are proud to present Through the Eyes of the Piping Plovers: The Flora, Fauna and Communities of the Lake Plain. This multidisciplinary exhibition celebrates the ecological significance of the Lake Michigan shoreline and the inspiring return of the endangered Great Lakes Piping Plover to Waukegan.

This expansive show features over 140 pieces of art—including paintings, photography, sculpture, and ceramics—created by more than 45 artists. The exhibition explores the delicate Lake Plain ecosystem through several lenses:

This exhibition marks a key highlight in the Lake County Audubon Society’s 50th-anniversary celebrations, emphasizing the organization's ongoing dedication to conservation and environmental education.
