A unique behind-the-scenes tour of a Lake County, Illinois glass maker, brewery and distillery.
Your morning starts with a visit to the studio of award-winning Peter Patterson. Peter will give your group a demonstration of his techniques and everyone will go home with one of his very own shot glasses. (Due to the size of the studio and tasting room, tour is best for smaller groups up to 35-40 people.)
Lunch is at Mickey Finn's Brewery on MainStreet Libertyville. You can create a meal that fits your group from plated to buffet, with their specialty crafted brews and dessert.
The afternoon continues with a tour of Illinois' first craft distillery since Prohibition - North Shore Distillery. Take a tour of the craft room, meet the still - Ethel and learn of the inspiration behind their unique creations - gin, vodka absinth and more. Each tour includes a tasting of cocktails created from their spirits.
Check into the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort and meet for a welcome reception that includes their exclusive Honey Badger Golden Ale Five Eyes Ale. It's made with the resort's own honey in partnership with Tighthead Brewing Co. in Mundelein.
A group dinner can be arranged right at the resort and then enjoy a Broadway musical at the Marriott Theatre.
The next morning offers options such as a Long Grove Confectionery's chocolate tour and a winery tour & wine appreciation class at Valentino Vineyards & Winery in Long Grove. Then head into the historic part of town for some quaint shopping. A group lunch at The Village Tavern (the oldest tavern in Illinois) gets everyone together before heading for home.
This tour will pick up everyone's spirits!
However you choose to piece together your tour, your knowledgeable Lake County coordinator Jayne Nordstrom will be happy to assist you.
