The historic downtown area of Long Grove is set to host its annual October Days, a month-long series of events celebrating the fall season and Halloween.
The festivities begin Thursday, Oct. 9, with Witches Night Out, where local merchants will stay open late for an evening of shopping, dining and special deals. On Saturday, Oct. 11, families can participate in DIY Scarecrow Day, creating custom scarecrows to be displayed throughout the downtown area. That same day, Pumpkin Palooza takes over Long Grove at Covered Bridge Park from 12–5 p.m., featuring seasonal activities for all ages.
The fun continues Sunday, Oct. 19, with a Pet Costume Parade, inviting local dogs to compete for prizes in various categories. The celebration concludes Friday, Oct. 24, with Trick or Treating, as children are invited to collect treats from participating downtown businesses.
