Help ring in the 4722nd Lunar New Year, the year of the Wood Snake, at the Gurnee Park District. Entertainer “Mai-Ling” will teach us the cultural history, traditions, and their meanings. In China and in ethnic communities around the world, the Lunar New Year is the most important and most festive holiday of the year. Make sure to NOT wear black as it is bad luck during the celebration. The celebration begins with a traditional Chinese lunch of a non-spicy chicken dish, along with egg rolls and dessert.
