The Mundelein Arts Commission will present the annual Lure of the Local art exhibition, “Lure of the Local: Portals,” at the Archer Business Center in Mundelein. Applications are now open.

The juried exhibition showcases the work of local artists including teachers, neighbors and friends whose creative practices shape the community’s cultural identity. This year’s theme, Portals, invites artists to explore transitions and thresholds through various mediums and perspectives.

An opening reception will take place Oct. 17. Awards will be given for Critic’s Choice, People’s Choice and a Purchase Award.

The event is sponsored by Tighthead Brewing Company.
