Embrace the magic of the cold season with Nature’s Winter Wonders, programs that explore the beauty, resilience and hidden life of nature during winter. This program is offered at a reduced rate thanks to funding from North Shore Gas.

The Waukegan Park District is hosting Happy Hibernation on Tuesday, December 13, 2025 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Nature’s Classroom, located at 2255 York House Road. Discover how different animals prepare to sleep through the cold winter months and why hibernation is important. Take a look at different animals’ fur and learn how it helps them get through the winter.
