The annual Ravinia District Cookie & Cocoa Crawl will kick off the holiday season Saturday, Dec. 6. Participants can visit local businesses for cocoa, cookies and family-friendly activities. The main festivities are scheduled at Jens Jensen Park from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A new Cookie Craft & Cocoa Scavenger Hunt will guide children and their guardians through participating businesses. Each child will begin at Jens Jensen Park, where they will receive a collection bag and scavenger hunt form.
At the park, children may visit with Santa, enjoy holiday music, sip hot cocoa and enter a guessing contest. Participants will then choose one of three scavenger hunt paths based on a cookie design—snowman, gingerbread man or mitten—to collect cookie components, frosting, candy decorations and a make-your-own Olaf craft. The activity concludes at a final stop where children can decorate their cookies and assemble their Olaf project.
