Veterans Day in Lake County 2019

Lake County is home to many people who have served this great nation. Being the home to Naval Station Great Lakes, we understand just how much these sacrifices matter to protecting our freedom.

To those brave men and women who have served as a member of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines Corps or Coast Guard, we take a moment to say thank you for your service. This truly is the "land of the free, and the home of the brave."

Veterans Day Celebration at the Gurnee American Legion

Join the Gurnee American Legion Post #771 and guest speaker Major Carter Bell to honor the brave soldiers at this ceremony. The Warren Township High School Choir will be performing and food will be catered.

Monday, November 11; 11 a.m.

Highland Park's Veterans Day Celebration

Mayor Nancy Rotering and representatives from the American Legion Post #145, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4737 and Jewish War Veterans #29 will be present. The Highland Park High School Brass Quintet will perform. This event takes place at the Highland Park Public Library.

Monday, November 11; 11 a.m.

Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony in Waukegan

The parade will step off at the intersection of Water and Genesee St., and end at the Veterans Memorial Plaza. Ceremony will take place at the plaza immediately following the parade.

Fox Lake Veterans Day Celebration

The Veterans Day ceremony will take place at the Fox Lake Metra station. Speakers include American Legion Post 703 Commander Robert Gabriel and auxiliary President Cathy Berkowski.

Deerfield Veterans Day Celebration

The Village of Deerfield and American legion Post #738 will be holding a service at the newly located Veterans Memorial. Also join Mayor Rosenthal at Village Hall for a service campaign that aims to give back to those who have served.
