The nostalgic tradition of having a freshly cut Christmas tree for the holidays is possible as the Richardson Farms Christmas Tree Season starts on today in Spring Grove. Work off those Thanksgiving pounds as you and the family searches the 75-acre farm that offers over 50,000 concolor and Douglas firs, white pine and Norway spruce trees standing six feet tall. The family can take a joy ride on the free wagon rides to and from the fields and sip on complimentary hot chocolate or coffee. The Richardson family provides the free shaking and bailing of your arbor. The farm also offers hundreds of fresh wreaths and decorations inside for sale along with autumn treats like homemade donuts, various popcorn and fudge made on the grounds. Handsaws are provided as U-Cut your own tree. You can also take the pre-cut tree option. Due to a shortage of trees this season, the beloved event runs through December 5.

Friday-Sunday, November 26-28; 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Richardson Christmas Tree Farm, 9407 Richardson Rd., Spring Grove.
