1. Lake County Restaurant Week

Discover delectable new dishes from over 65 eateries during Lake County Restaurant Week: 10 Days to Savor. The food frenzy is the perfect opportunity to explore new places to dine or enjoy old favorites. Each participating restaurant will offer a prix fixe menu or a special offer for patrons to dine from. Learn more about participating restaurants and view the special menus and offers at lakecountyrestaurantweek.com. Lake County Restaurant Week runs through March 10.

Friday-Sunday, March 1-3; various times and locations throughout Lake County.

2. Northern Illinois Boat Show

Drop anchor at the Lake County Fairgrounds and Event Center for the Northern Illinois Boat Show. The Grayslake event features will display over 200 new and used vessels for sale from over 50 brands. Getting ready for the season? More than 30 exhibitors will feature large selections of boat trailers, parts and accessories to shop from. The largest boat show in the area is highlighted by the latest models in pontoon, family runabouts, ski boats, jet boats, fishing boats, bayliners, alumacrafts, sea ray boats and an array of other watercrafts.

Friday-Sunday, March 1-3; Fri.: Noon-8 p.m. Sat.:10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sun.: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission: $6-$8. Free admission for children under 12 years old. Lake County Fairgrounds and Event Center, 1060 E. Peterson Rd., Grayslake.

3. Vernon Hills' Craft Beer Tasting Festival

Suds aficionados will flock to Vernon Hills this Saturday for the sixth installment of the Vernon Hills Craft Beer Tasting Festival. The Sullivan Community Center event features selections from breweries on the Lake County Libation Trail including Tighthead Brewing Company, Mickey Finn’s Brewery, Ravinia Brewing Company, Buffalo Creek Brewing Co., Only Child Brewing and more. Delight in the sounds of live music while conquering your hunger with food from Real Urban Barbecue at the Vernon Hills brew bash. Visit vhparkdistrict.org to register.

Saturday, March 2; 5-9 p.m. Admission: $35. Designated Driver: $10. Sullivan Community Center, 635 N. Aspen Dr., Vernon Hills.

4. MainStreet Libertyville's First Friday

Libertyville’s celebrated “First Friday” event makes its triumphant return for 2019. Dine, shop and walk throughout beautiful downtown Libertyville to find deals and specials from many participating locations. See a side-splitting stand-up comedy show at Improv Playhouse, receive a free glass of wine with an entrée purchase at Café Pomigliano or discover other splendid surprises at the Libertyville affair. Don’t forget to indulge in Lake County Restaurant Week featuring a slew of Libertyville eateries including the aforementioned café, Chrissoula’s Restaurant, Main Street Social, Mickey Finn’s Brewery, O’Toole’s Libertyville, Porto’s Peri Peri, Sunset Foods, Townee Square and Wildberry Café.

5. Golden Dragon Acrobats at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts

Treat yourself to a spectacular show of dance as the premiere Chinese tumbling touring group, the Golden Dragon Acrobats, showcase their talents at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County. The performers combine traditional dance, sensational costumes, various styles of music and more to entertain and thrill attendees with their daring maneuvers.

Saturday, March 2; 7 p.m. Admission: $34-$40. James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake.
