Mickey Finn’s Brewery is making the most out of February’s extra day with their Finn’s & Friends Beer Fest. The Libertyville brewhouse fest features over a dozen local and Chicago breweries including Lake County Libation Trail™ partners Half Day Brewing Company of Lincolnshire, Light the Lamp Brewery of Grayslake, Only Child Brewing of Gurnee, Ravinia Brewing Company of Highland Park, Tighthead Brewing Company of Mundelein and of course the home brewery, Mickey Finn’s Brewery. Admission to this event includes a commemorative tasting glass, three free play pinball machines and a pizza buffet to pair with your glass of suds. The College of Lake County is hosting its 36th annual Salute to Gospel Concert this Saturday at the Genesee Theatre. This event on the Waukegan stage stars Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductee Bishop Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir. Johaan Cotton-Wilson and Effie Rolfe are your emcees for an evening featuring special guests, including the College of Lake County Gospel Choir, Dr. Sandra Leconte, Mark Cosey and Charles Hayes. Be sure to grab your tickets before this concert is “souled out.”

Suds aficionados can converge on the Sullivan Community Center this Saturday for the seventh annual Vernon Hills Park District Craft Beer Tasting. This beer bash features selections from breweries on the Lake County Libation Trail™, including Buffalo Creek Brewing Company of Long Grove, Bosacki’s Brewery and Tighthead Brewing Company of Mundelein, Mickey Finn’s Brewery of Libertyville, Ravinia Brewing Company of Highland Park and more. Rock out to the sounds of live music performed by cover band Dizzy Edge. Delectable eats are available for purchase from local vendors. Attendees must be age 21 or older.
