Here are the things to do this weekend December 13-15, 2024.

1. Dickens Holiday on MainStreet Libertyville

Step back in time and immerse yourself in holiday cheer at Dickens of a Holiday, hosted by MainStreet Libertyville. This cherished event transforms Libertyville into a festive wonderland. Santa Claus will be spreading joy and posing for photos in Cook Park, let your little ones pick out gifts for their loved ones at Petranek Pharmacy’s Children Holiday Shoppe (no adults allowed so the youngsters can peruse for a loved one’s gift) or experience a cozy Victorian Tea at the Libertyville Civic Center highlighted by China tea cups, finger sandwiches, scones and more. Families are encouraged to get a head start on their holiday shopping in downtown Libertyville. In the spirit of giving, attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations for the Libertyville Township Food Pantry. 2. Holiday Events at Hawthorn

Get ready for a magical holiday weekend at Hawthorn Mall and Row in Vernon Hills. Experience enchanting performances, delightful photo opportunities, holiday shopping and more. Stop by the Santa Set at Macy's Court to visit Santa showcasing the set of the 1983 renowned holiday classic “A Christmas Story,” where kids can share their wish list, leave a letter in Santa’s mailbox and capture a memory with professional photos. Enjoy dazzling entertainment from local talent featuring Vernon Hills High School Chir, Due Dolci, In Motion Dance and La Luz del Mundo Church. Join Disney Fine Artist, Trevor Carlton for a special live performance in Center Park to celebrate the magic Mickey Mouse and friends. Cap off Saturday evening with the Hot Cocoa Stroll at Hawthorn Row highlighted by artisan booths for unique gifts, warm cocoa stations and live ice sculptures and more. 3. "Dear Evan Hansen" at Genesee Theatre in Waukegan

Prepare for an unforgettable evening as the critically acclaimed and Tony Award-winning musical “Dear Evan Hansen” takes the stage at the historic Genesee Theatre in Waukegan. The musical follows the protagonist and high school student Hansen who often feels invisible and disconnected from those around him. 4. Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge in Gurnee

5. Breakfast with Santa at Lambs Farm

Celebrate the holidays at Lambs Farm in Green Oaks/Libertyville area with Breakfast with Santa. Start your day with a delicious brunch at Magnolia Café and Bakery, followed by fun activities at Santa’s Workshop. Children can choose a gift, get a festive tattoo, create sand art and take home a craft-filled goodie bag. Families will also enjoy special time with Santa, that includes photo opportunities.
