1. 30th Annual Pow Wow Potawatomi Trails Traditional Social in Zion

Receive a taste of Native American heritage to heighten awareness of their history at the annual Potawatomi Trails Pow Wow in Zion. The city with a "historic past and dynamic future" celebrates its 30th anniversary. Join the Shiloh Park party as you listen and witness the history, traditions, and customers of the storied tribe. Other festivities at this Zion fiesta include live demonstrations, music and dance presentations, educational sessions, and a trade area. The Grand Entry is a must-see experience where members of the Potawatomi nation will present their flag and perform traditional dances.

Ahhhwooooo! The wolf has risen. Your little slip-and-sliders can have summer fun in the Great Wolf Lodge Illinois. 3. Elote Festival in Round Lake Beach

Elote Festival is a three-day celebration of Mexican street corn held at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center (RLBCCC). The corn festival features musical acts like La Sonora Dinamita, Los Chios Del 512 (The Selena Experience), Trabuco, and more. The maize celebration concludes with the eclectic and electric Northern Lights Drone Show by Bear Paw Adventure Park on Sunday evening. Artisan and fare vendors, carnival rides, a bounce house and foam blaster, the Elote Queen Pageant, and more highlight the RLBCCC event. Shake your tailfeather with free LatinoXpressions Dance and Fitness Studio dance lessons, followed by Columbian salsa. Free parking is available at the Round Lake Beach Metra Station. Lake County Libation Trail partner Harbor Brewing Co. hosts its second Backyard Bash this weekend. This Lake Villa craft beer festival features diverse musical acts and fare options. Local bands Fiddleface, The Rogue Electrics, and Unusual Suspects will grace the Lake Villa stage. Various food trucks will attend, including Mamma Mia Pizza, Mijos Authentic Mexican Food, and more will be serving delectable eats. 5. Summer Spotlight Evening Performance with Tempel Lipizzans in Old Mill Creek

"Giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up, let's go." Let's go to The Tempel Lipizzans Summer Spotlight Performance. These gifted stallions will perform in a four-segment exhibition of classical riding at the Old Mill Creek farm. The program includes a tribute to the Olympic sport of showcasing equestrian dressage and a performance of the maneuvers of Middle Ages battle techniques utilized in the Middle Ages soldiers. The steeds will run through its five-segment routine that includes the Quadrille. As mentioned earlier, the movement demonstrates the classical dressage technique and the distinguished level of communication between trainer and horse. In addition to the stallion ballet, equestrian enthusiasts can explore the bond between mares and their babies as the Lake County farm hosts their Foals Presentation. The Tempel Lipizzans celebrates 65 years: Dancing through the Decades with new music. Visitors can purchase tickets at TempelFarms.com.
