Spring has sprung in Lake County, so grab the family for some refreshing outdoor fun this weekend. Frolick in the flowers at the Tulip Festival or get your blood pumping on the new ride at Six Flags Great America. Laugh and sing at "The Addams Family" musical comedy and help Wauconda "go green" at the Wauconda Park District's Earth Day event. Celebrate this Easter weekend with a trip to see the Easter Bunny and capture eggs at an Easter egg hunt, like the one hosted by Caplan Sports in Libertyville. 1. Tulip Festival at Richardson Adventure Farm

Enjoy the colorful signs of spring at Richardson Adventure Farm's annual Tulip Festival this weekend. Featuring over one million tulips, daffodils and other spring flowers spread across 10 acres of farmland, this beloved event lures visitors from all over who are ready to rejoice at winter's end. Pair your walk through the flowers with beer, wine and food offered at Richardson's, along with outdoor games for the whole family. 2. Six Flags Great America in Gurnee Opens for the season 

It's opening weekend at Lake County's most thrilling attraction: Six Flags Great America in Gurnee! This popular amusement park is introducing its newest coaster, the Wrath of Rakshasa, a record-breaking, heart-pumping ride promising an adrenaline rush you won't forget. Boasting some of the tallest, fastest and wildest roller coasters in the country, you're in for a full day of thrilling fun at this Lake County staple. 3. The Addams family musical at Genesee Theatre in Waukegan

Spend your Saturday night with everyone's favorite creepy, kooky characters at "The Addams Family: A Musical Comedy" at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan. The musical follows Wednesday and her family as they prepare to host her new boyfriend and his parents for a dinner to get better acquainted. Worried about first impressions, Wednesday asks the spooky clan to act "normal," which, of course, ultimately results in ghostly mayhem. 4. Wauconda Earth Day

Join the Wauconda Park District on Friday for the Earth Day recycling collection and giveaway event. In an effort to keep Wauconda and the surrounding Lake County communities clean, Wauconda Park District is asking for donation items that can be recycled or reused, like hearing aids, eyeglasses, computers and more. In exchange, you’ll get to choose one of the awesome Earth Day giveaways offered, including five varieties of bare root native shrubs, oak tree saplings, plant cuttings and many different varieties of seed packets. Kids are invited to explore the Earth Day craft stations, where they’ll learn how to reuse items around the house to create no-sew tote bags and spinning tops. 5. Easter Egg Hunt at Canlan Sports Libertyville

Kick off your weekend Saturday morning with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny, followed by a giant indoor egg hunt! Canlan Sports Libertyville invites you and your family to celebrate Easter with full bellies and a chance to win some awesome prizes. Bring your camera for pictures with the Easter Bunny and don’t forget your Easter baskets so you can grab as many eggs as you can find on the turf field.
