Why aren’t you enjoying a slice of pizza right now? Lake County February Flavor Festival is the perfect excuse to visit participating pizza parlors and explore a world of culinary delights in the Land of Lakes. From Feb. 1–28, indulge in local favorites and celebrate one of Lake County's most delectable creations: pizza.The Chicagoland area is renowned for its pizza, and Lake County is no exception. 

As we dive into Lake County’s pizza scene during the February Flavor Festival, here are some standout establishments to explore:

129 CENTER CUT IN GRAYSLAKE

129 Center Cut in Grayslake

129 Center Cut is known for its hand-cut steaks and chops, but its wood-fired pizzas are just as worthy of the spotlight. Fired to perfection with a lightly charred crust, each pie delivers bold, satisfying flavor. The classic Margherita features garlic, cherry tomatoes and chili flakes, while the Meat Lover’s pizza is loaded with sausage, pepperoni and bacon. Creative options like the Italian pizza with prosciutto, arugula and balsamic reduction, or the White pizza topped with figs, bacon and pesto, make 129 Center Cut a must-try stop for great pizza in Lake County.

Bill’s Pizza & Pub is a family-friendly restaurant, since 1957, with a unique, comfortable, rustic, Northwoods-inspired dining room with incredible wildlife mounts. JJ TWIG'S PIZZA & PUB IN WAUCONDA

Mickey Finn's in Libertyville

Mickey Finn’s Brewery in Libertyville isn’t just Lake County’s first brewpub—it’s also a go-to spot for incredible tavern-style pizza. WOOD you like a slice of pizza? This Libertyville wood-fired pie place not only serves up a mean slice, as their menu also features salads, pasta and burgers. Pizzeria DeVille also provides a full bar.

Quonset Pizza in Waukegan

Quonset Pizza in Waukegan

The vintage Waukegan pizzeria serves thin-crust pies, toasted subs and Chicago-style Italian beef. The facility is structured like a Quonset hut that was utilized by the United States Navy in the 1940s. The Lake County staple has been locally-owned and operating since 1946. Quonset offers toppings like classic cheese, sausage, Italian beef, bacon, black olives, mushrooms, green peppers, pineapple, chicken feta spinach, BLT and gluten-free. The Waukegan eatery is open for dine-in services, delivery and carryout.

Roaring Table Brewing Co. in Lake Zurich

Since transforming a former furniture store into a stylish taproom in 2017, founders Beth May and Lane Fearing have established Roaring Table Brewing Co. as a cornerstone of Lake County’s craft community. Anchored by a custom-carved elm bar and communal lounge, the brewery is equally celebrated for its beer and its standout pizza. Roaring Table is especially known for its inventive Detroit-style pizzas, baked with a crisp Wisconsin brick cheese frico and finished with bold, chef-driven toppings.
