The Waukegan Park District will host the 2026 Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Bevier Park in Waukegan. This family-friendly event features friendly competition with prizes awarded for the largest fish caught in each age category.

Age categories include:

• 4 years and younger
• 5 to 8 years
• 9 to 12 years
• 13 to 16 years
• 17 years and older

Registration opens Friday, May 1, 2026. Preregistration is required and on-site registration will not be available. The fee is $3 for residents and $5 for nonresidents ages 12 and younger, and $5 for residents and $7 for nonresidents ages 13 and older. Participants are limited to one fishing pole per person.
