The Winthrop Harbor Recreation Department is inviting the community to its annual Touch-a-Truck event, scheduled for Saturday, June 21, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Schlader Building.
This free, family-friendly event offers a hands-on opportunity to explore a variety of vehicles and equipment used daily by local businesses and municipal departments. Children and families will have the chance to take photos with trucks and machinery from the Village of Winthrop Harbor’s Public Works, Police, Fire and Recreation departments, as well as other organizations from around Lake County.
A bounce house sponsored by Community 365 will be available for children, and attendees can enter a bike raffle, with the bicycle donated by Dr. Mayor Bruno.
New this year, the LifeNet ambulance helicopter is scheduled to land at 38 Acre Park between 1 and 2 p.m.
