Dress in your red, white and blue and spark your Independence Day spirit on our newly certified USATF course. The Freedom Classic 5K kicks off on Recreation Drive, winds through scenic Loch Lomond, and finishes at Keith Mione Community Park. This professionally chip-timed race, using our new timing company, promises a top-tier experience for all participants.

The first 400 registrants will receive a race T-shirt. 

Prizes include a $100 cash award for the top overall male and female finishers and medals for 1st through 3rd place in each age group. Every entrant also receives a free day pass to Barefoot Bay, included on the back of the race bib.

Free Kids Firecracker Fun Run: 9 a.m.

Ages 10 and under can dash to the finish line for a freeze pop and a medal—no registration required. Limited-edition race T-shirts for the Fun Run will be available for purchase on race day. Proceeds benefit the Mundelein Parks Foundation, supporting recreation scholarships for financially disadvantaged residents of the Mundelein Park & Recreation District.
