Food Truck Thursdays in the Ravinia District will host a special Broadway-themed double feature on Thursday, July 10, from 4:30 p.m. to dusk. The free event will feature live musical performances, a movie in the park, and gourmet food trucks lining Dean Avenue from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Attendees are invited to come dressed as their favorite Broadway characters and enjoy a high-energy evening of performances and community fun. Local vendors such as Abigail’s American Bistro, Indus Progressive Indian, Michael’s Grill & Salad Bar, Shaevitz Kosher Market & BBQ and Steep Ravine Brewing Company will serve a wide range of savory bites and sweet treats.
Broadway Nite kicks off at 4:30 p.m. with live performances featuring selections from beloved musicals currently showing locally, including “Wicked” by Children’s Theatre Company, “Rent” by the Highland Park Players, and “Hairspray” by Uptown Music Theater. The evening will culminate with a screening of “Hairspray” in Jens Jensen Park, sponsored by the Park District of Highland Park.

4:45 to 5:45 p.m. – Children’s Theatre Company performs numbers from “Wicked” and “Newsies”
6 to 6:45 p.m. – Highland Park Players present selections from “Rent” and highlights from their 2025 season
7 to 7:45 p.m. – Uptown Music Theater previews Broadway favorites from its upcoming July 2025 production of “Hairspray”
7:45 to 9:45 p.m. – Outdoor screening of “Hairspray”
Beginning July 3, families can pick up a Broadway-themed word search at participating Ravinia District businesses. Kids who complete and return it to the activity booth during Broadway Nite will receive a temporary hair spray makeover and be entered to win a $50 gift card to a local business of their choice.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and their best singing voices for a festive night of food, music and fun under the stars.
