Lace up your running shoes and join the 13th annual Outrun the Cops 5K run/walk and 10K run on Saturday, June 28. This timed charity event begins and ends at the Gurnee Police Department, with the majority of the course along the Des Plaines River Trail. Proceeds benefit the Lake County Children’s Advocacy Center.

Race details:

• Race day registration: Begins at 7 a.m.
• Race start time: 8 a.m.
• Course: Mostly crushed limestone trail with aid stations offering water and sports drinks. Water, sports drinks and snacks will be available at the finish line.

Registration fees:

• 5K walk/run — $45 (Includes T-shirt if registered by June 1)
• 10K run — $55 (Includes T-shirt if registered by June 1)
• Children 10 and under — Free with paid adult registration

Registration is open online until midnight Wednesday, June 25.
