The Potawatomi Trails Pow-wow returns to Shiloh Park in Zion on Aug. 22–24. This family-friendly event celebrates Native American heritage through traditional dancing, music, art and community gathering.
Each day will feature a grand entry of dancers: Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday at noon. Highlights include a motorcycle auction on Sunday at 4 p.m., a Veteran’s Circle ceremony on Sunday at 10 a.m., silent auctions, raffles, and a special giveaway at noon Sunday. A dinner break will take place Saturday from 5 to 6:30 p.m., though trader booths will remain open. The closing ceremony is scheduled for Sunday at 5 p.m.
All drums and dancers are welcome, and attendees can enjoy demonstrations of quill work and other cultural traditions throughout the weekend.
Admission is $10 daily for adults and $5 for children ages 6–12. A special weekend pass is available for $15. Children under 6 and elders over 65 are admitted free with an accompanying adult. Hand stamps will be provided for re-entry. No drugs or alcohol are permitted.
