The City of Highland Park will host a revamped Holiday Lighting on Friday, Nov. 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Port Clinton Square. The celebration features an updated tree and menorah display, along with festive activities for the whole family.
Hanukkah Harry and Santa Claus will arrive at 4 p.m. with a special escort by the Highland Park Fire Department. Guests can meet them, share their holiday wish lists, and take photos. Visitors can also stroll the square to meet Anna and Elsa from Frozen, enjoy the Frozen Robin Carolers, visit a face painter and enjoy complimentary popcorn and cocoa while DJ Julian provides holiday music.
The Highland Park High School Choir will perform from 4:30 to 4:45 p.m., just before Mayor Nancy Rotering waves the magic wand to light the displays. Families can also enjoy holly-jolly photo vignettes throughout the plaza.
